Praet named ECB’s de facto chief economist
Peter Praet, a member of the European Central Bank's (ECB) executive board, has been selected as the central bank's de facto chief economist following a reshuffle of its board.
On January 3, the ECB's executive board revised the distribution of responsibilities for its members, with Praet taking over 'economics' responsibilities from Jürgen Stark, who resigned from the central bank at the end of the year.
