Islamic finance must follow global codes

Islamic financial institutions must ensure that they comply with international best practices on supervision, Zeti Akhtar Aziz, the governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, has said.

"In the coming years, it is important for adequate focus to be given on the implementation of international prudential standards and sound risk management practices in Islamic financial institutions to ensure the financial stability and integrity of the financial system," the governor said.
