Four former senior Federal Reserve officials have offered four differing slants on one of the most hotly-debated topics in central banking.

Alice Rivlin, a former vice-chairman of the Fed; Frederic Mishkin, a former governor at the Fed; Dino Kos, a former executive vice president of the New York Fed's markets group; and Marvin Goodfriend, a former senior vice president at the Richmond Fed, gave their view on whether central banks should lean against the wind and raise rates to counter asset-price
