Vietnam sets up anti-counterfeit money section

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has set up an anti-counterfeit money section to protect the Vietnamese dong and raise public awareness of how to recognise counterfeit money, said an SBV official.

The examination of counterfeit money is a regular activity of the bank, said Nguyen Quoc Toan, Deputy Director of SBV's Department of Banknote Issuance and Treasury, thus the establishment of the sector will help specialise the work and improve its effectiveness.

The section will organise professional
