Policy-makers should shift focus to damage mitigation, say officials at Central Banking Autumn Meetings

Rather than working only to prevent cyber attacks, central banks should assume that such incidents will happen and focus on mitigating the impact, panellists at the Central Banking Autumn Meetings said on November 13.

During the discussion, which took place in Mexico City under Chatham House rules, a panellist from a Caribbean central bank said the ideal regulatory approach to cyber risks involved more than preventing attacks.
