US Treasury looks to deepen G7 cyber co-operation after exercise

Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK and the US adapt long-term strategy amidst mounting tension

The Group of Seven (G7) countries are moving to reinforce and harmonise the cyber security of their economies after this year’s stress test.

The US Treasury, the UK Treasury and the Bank of Canada have issued statements describing this year’s “cross-order co-ordination exercise”, which had simulated a large-scale cyber attack on all G7 countries’ economies back in May.

The authorities did not describe the exercise in detail. The Bank of England published a statement on July 31, in which it wrote
