Be proactive on AI and quantum, Riksbank deputy says

Authorities should collaborate despite geopolitical tensions, says Aino Bunge

Sveriges Riksbank’s deputy governor has said that without central bank collaboration, risks related to artificial intelligence and quantum computing could “spill over across borders”.

Speaking on a panel at the Bank of International Settlements’ innovation summit in Basel on September 9, Aino Bunge explained that although new technologies took around a decade to take concrete form, central banks should not stand by and watch new risks emerge.
