
Eurosystem launches unified collateral management system
Operated by four central banks, ECMS replaces 20 systems previously operated by national authorities

The Eurosystem on June 16 launched its new collateral management system, replacing 20 systems previously operated by national central banks.
In a press release on June 17, the European Central Bank said migration to the Eurosystem Collateral Management System (ECMS) had been completed “successfully” over the weekend of June 14–15. This had followed “extensive” testing and migration rehearsals to enable participants to access the new system once it became operational.
