Netherlands Bank says trust in most public institutions has risen as banks step up during pandemic

Public trust in big tech firms has fallen during the Covid-19 outbreak, according to data from the Netherlands Bank.

In its most recent economic bulletin, the central bank notes public trust in most entities in the Netherlands increased throughout the pandemic. “Trust in tech companies such as Google, Apple and Facebook is the only exception,” the central bank says.

The biggest increase in public trust is for politicians: up to 52% from 24% a year earlier. The central bank also notes trust in
