BSP to use satellite imagery to aid policy-making

Philippines central bank partners with space agency to help identify climate-vulnerable communities

The Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) is to use satellite imagery to inform its monetary policy and financial stability decisions, under a partnership with the country’s space agency.

The BSP announced today (February 12) that it had signed an agreement with the Philippine Space Agency on the use of satellite technology to assess climate and environmental risks.
