Study finds high income countries more vulnerable to climate change, in contrast to other research

Climate change: Where can central banks contribute?

Climate change is negatively affecting the global economy in significant and permanent ways, a study published by South Korea’s central bank finds.

The Bank of Korea (BoK) working paper, published by Jihyun Kim and Boreum Kwak on August 21, uses a global climate index developed by the researchers to study the effect temperature shocks may have on the global economy. The researchers find that global temperature shocks have large and permanent negative effects on the world’s economic output.
