Angola’s central bank sells $105m of FX to airlines
Bulk of sales took place in April and coincided with soaring jet fuel prices
The National Bank of Angola has carried out foreign exchange sales of more than $105 million to airlines this year.
The bulk of the sales, amounting to more than $94.5 million, took place in April.
The central bank said in a statement on May 5 that the sales were “of an exceptional nature” and were “aimed at ensuring the regularity of airline operations, with a direct impact on international connectivity and the normal functioning of air transport”.
