BoJ holds as yen and won both rise on suspected interventions

Japan’s central bank more hawkish than at previous meetings as it keeps rates at 1%

The Bank of Japan said it would hold policy at 1% today (July 31) and that inflation was likely to exceed its target, shortly after both the Japanese and South Korean authorities were suspected of having intervened to prop up their respective currencies.
