Baltics announce nominees for de Guindos’s position at ECB

Estonia proposes central bank governor, while Lithuania nominates finance minister

Estonia and Lithuania have announced their nominees to take over as European Central Bank vice-president when Luis de Guindos’s term ends on May 31.

Estonia’s ministry of finance nominated the country’s outgoing central bank governor, Madis Müller, while Lithuania put forward Rimantas Šadžius, a three-time former minister of finance.
