People: Sarah John to become BoE’s COO

UK: Sarah John is to become chief operating officer at the Bank of England. She will replace Ben Stimson, who is leaving to become chief executive of retail group Southern Co-op. John is currently the BoE’s chief cashier, a role that will be taken over by Victoria Cleland, who will combine the role with her current duties as executive director for payments.
