Former Ecuadorian governor arrested in Miami

US authorities arrest Delgado for immigration violations nine years after he fled Ecuador

US officials in Florida arrested the former governor of the Ecuadorian central bank, Pedro Delgado Campaña, on August 27.  

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials took custody of the former governor at his home in North Miami Beach, according to Ecuadorian newspaper El Universo.

Another newspaper, Primicias, reported that ICE held Delgado Campaña for being in the US unlawfully. He was scheduled to appear before an immigration judge on August 30.
