People: deputies appointed in China and El Salvador
China: The People’s Bank of China announced the appointment of Li Bo as a deputy governor on April 12.
Li was most recently deputy mayor of Chongqing. He attended graduate school in the US, earning a doctorate in economics at Stanford University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
According to his PBoC biography, he worked as a lawyer in private practice between 1998 and 2004, when he joined the central bank. From 2004 to 2018, he worked at the PBoC, rising to head the monetary policy
