Understanding the notion of central bank independence requires a combination of insight into economics, constitutional law, politics and history. This book by Sarah Binder and Mark Spindel is strong on the two latter subjects, somewhat weaker on the two former. This is not surprising, given the respective backgrounds of the two authors.
