Former MNB governor issues statement defending his legacy
Matolcsy says investments and headquarters renovation delivered long-term value
György Matolcsy has issued a statement defending himself against the “daily political attacks” he has received since stepping down as governor of Hungary’s central bank in March 2025.
His statement was e-mailed to various Hungarian media outlets and published by Index on April 22.
