Malaysia charges Goldman Sachs over 1MDB scandal

Malaysian authorities brought charges against Goldman Sachs and two of the bank’s employees over the 1MDB scandal today (December 17), following similar action by US authorities.

A former 1MDB employee, Jasmine Loo Ai Swan, and Jho Low, a close associate of the sovereign wealth fund whose whereabouts are currently unknown, were charged as well.

“The charges arise from the commission and abetment of false or misleading statements by all the accused in order to dishonestly misappropriate $2.7
