UK’s Treasury Committee publishes contentious report on RBS

Report had been protected under UK confidentiality laws, but parliamentarians chose to publish it regardless

The UK parliament’s Treasury Committee went ahead with the publication of a damning report into a division of RBS today (February 20), despite the report being protected by confidentiality laws.

The report relates to RBS’s Global Restructuring Group, a division that sought to work with failing small businesses, and has since been wound up. The group has been accused of governance failings and mistreating many of its customers.
