ECB analysts call for European supervision of asset managers
Largest groups’ balance sheets and cross-border activity merit closer look, blog argues
European Central Bank analysts would like to see the continent’s largest asset management companies supervised at a “European” level.
In a blog post on February 13, Ana Maria Ceh, Pierce Daly, Johanne Evrard, Michael Grill, Alessandra Martino, Michael Wedow and Christian Weistroffer argue that the “10 to 15 key players” in the sector have comparable systemic importance to the largest banks in the eurozone.
