Jordan plans ‘quantum-resistant’ transition roadmap for banks

Central bank calls for co-ordination over encryption measures to ensure business continuity

The Central Bank of Jordan is orchestrating a plan to help commercial lenders ready their systems for quantum computing.

In an announcement on January 4, the central bank said it was issuing a “sectoral roadmap” to help banks “enhance future readiness” for the technology.

The central bank said this would involve integrating quantum computing-related risks into its risk register, enhancing governance and building institutional capacity to support the transition over the long term.
