RBI’s Das calls for legislation on resolution corporation

Several banks in India remain troubled, and Covid-19 may trigger further problems, governor says

The governor of the Reserve Bank of India has called for legislation to establish a resolution corporation in India, as instability continues to plague the financial sector.

“Going forward I think we need legislative backing to have some kind of a resolution corporation,” Shaktikanta Das told a conference organised by State Bank of India.
