Yellen urges caution on regulatory adjustments

Lawmakers should be careful in making any attempt to weaken regulations introduced after the 2008 financial crisis, Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen warned on June 27.

Yellen said, ”I don’t think it would be a good thing” to wind back regulations, during a discussion with economist Nicholas Stern in London. “Memories do tend to fade,” she noted, adding it was the job of the people who lived through the crisis to remind others of the potential dangers.
