RBNZ to collaborate with industry on financial inclusion MoU

Move follows consultation in which almost all wanted action to improve banking access

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) is to work with the private sector to improve the public’s access to bank accounts following consultations with firms and civil society groups in the country.

The central bank said today (March 12) that it had been involved in carrying out a consultation with 22 community groups, financial institutions, financial technology providers and others on the public’s ability to access current (checking) accounts.
