Philippines leads improvement in Brookings financial inclusion rankings

A financial inclusion strategy launched by the Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) in 2015 seems to be producing results, with the country showing the fastest improvement of those surveyed in a recent Brookings Institution study.

The Philippines saw an eight percentage point increase in its overall score between 2015 and 2016, based on a metric covering country commitment, mobile capacity, regulatory environment and rate of adoption.
