Companies in Slovakia are paying a hefty price for climate change but are postponing investments that would help them boost their readiness to heat-related shocks, research from the country’s central bank concludes.

In a new blog post, Roman Vasiľ, head of climate sustainability at the National Bank of Slovakia, says extreme heat reduces business performance in agriculture, construction, manufacturing and transport – industries that account for approximately 40% of the value added in the Slovak
