Fed research finds tax policies may ease wage inequality

Research from the Federal Reserve indicates that wage inequalities across the United States are being mitigated by tax policies.

The report analyses the impact of state and federal tax policies separately, and concludes that variants in state-by-state gasoline taxes represent the biggest variable from state to state.

The report concludes that the tax code reduces wage inequality across all states, finding approximately the last two decades of wage inequality was eradicated by changes to the tax
