Russia's central bank faces reform calls

According to this article published by The Times on Wednesday 4 April, the Russian finance ministry has met senior figures from the banking sector recently to discuss reforming the Bank of Russia.

"Among the proposals on the table is the setting up of a regulator along the lines of London's Financial Services Authority (FSA)," the article says.

"The move comes as the central bank has become subject to intense scrutiny and found itself at the centre of allegations of corruption and even murder."
