Basel Committee approves G-Sib frameworks
All jurisdictions home to G-Sibs deemed "compliant" with Basel framework
All five jurisdictions that host the world's most systemically important banks have put in place frameworks consistent with the Basel rules, according to a study published by the Basel Committee on Banking supervision on June 16.
The five reports – forming the first cross-jurisdictional assessment – find China, the European Union, Japan, Switzerland and the US are all "compliant" with the Basel rules on global systemically important banks (G-Sibs), the highest of four possible grades.
