Russian central bank centralises supervisory duties

New division will supervise smaller banks across country

The Moscow headquarters of Russia's central bank will be taking responsibility for the supervision of the country's regional banks, it announced today (March 1).

Responsibility for supervision would pass from the central bank's regional divisions in a "step-wise" manner and would be completed in 2018, the Bank of Russia says in a statement.
