The Central Bank of Nigeria on May 25 revealed plans to build a "world-class" convention centre in Abuja as part of its so-called "intervention programme".

"The centre shall consist of an auditorium, multipurpose halls, accommodation, retail spaces and associated facilities," said the central bank in a notice posted to invite building contractors to express their interest in bidding for the project.

The new development would incorporate an auditorium to accommodate approximately 1,500 people
