Turkmen central bankers jailed

On Friday, news broke of the latest scandal in the torrid history of Turkmenistan's central bank.

Newswire Reuters reported that three central bank officials had been jailed after being convicted of corruption in an open trial.

President Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov said the trial was a bid to stem graft in the country.
