Estonian finance minister 'certainly qualified' for governor role

On Monday, newswire Bloomberg reported that Estonian finance minister Juergen Ligi had been asked by Jaan Mannik, the Eesti Pank's supervisory board chairman, to apply for the post of central bank governor.

Estonian newspaper Postimees also reported Mannik's request on Saturday. Newswire Bloomberg on Monday quoted Mannik as saying: "Juergen Ligi, having been a very strong finance minister, is certainly qualified for this position." He added that Ligi had said he would take until August to decide
