Goldman economist to replace Sentance on Bank’s MPC

Ben Broadbent, the senior European economist and a managing director at Goldman Sachs, was on Monday named as Andrew Sentance's replacement on the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee.

Broadbent has been senior European economist at Goldman Sachs since 2000 and a managing director since 2006. He was formerly assistant professor at Columbia University and has worked at both the Treasury and the Bank. He has a doctorate from Harvard University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, and a first
