Bank of Italy moves to new balance of payments data regime

The Bank of Italy on Monday released its first complete balance of payments statistics under a new collection system, altered in a bid to improve the quality of statistics collected by the central bank.

The new system, which includes statistics on a broad range of measures for banks, non-financial corporations and insurance companies, follows a major transformation in September to the way data on Italy's balance of payments is compiled. As a result of the changes in data collection, starting
