CIC to open Toronto office, wants more funds: reports

China Investment Corporation (CIC), China's sovereign wealth fund, has announced plans to launch its first foreign office in Toronto as part of a broader strategy to invest in natural resources.

The Globe and Mail, a Canadian newspaper, said last week that CIC would unveil plans for a new Toronto office this week as part of plans to step up its investments in Canada. The sovereign wealth fund's sole office is based in Beijing's Dongcheng district. London and New York were rumoured as possible
