Obama determined to appoint Diamond to Fed board
President Barack Obama on Wednesday renominated Peter Diamond, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Nobel laureate, to the Federal Reserve Board despite previous attempts by Senate Republicans to block his appointment.
