‘End the Fed’ author to lead congressional Fed oversight group

Ron Paul, a Republican lawmaker and outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve, has been selected to lead a monetary policy subcommittee in the US Congress' House Financial Services Committee.

Spencer Bachus, a Republican congressman and the chairman-elect of the House Financial Services Committee, on Friday named Paul head of the Domestic Monetary Policy Subcommittee, as part of a host of appointments within the body.

The reshuffle follows the Republican party's taking of the lower house with a 49
