Israel names Hizkiyahu successor

The Bank of Israel on Monday named David Zaken as the replacement for Rony Hizkiyahu, its supervisor of banks, who will leave the central bank at the end of the year.

Zaken is an internal appointee, having worked at the central bank for the past 20 years. For the past three years, he has served as deputy supervisor of banks, under Hizkiyahu, and head of offsite examination and licensing.

Announcing the appointment, the central bank stressed Zaken's wide experience in the arena of banking
