Fed issues guidelines on Volcker rule enforcement

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday issued proposals on how the measure to extend firms' compliance with the Volcker rule should be applied.

The Fed proposals cover its interpretation of the Volcker rule's general conformance period, the extension of the conformance period, and the extended transition period for funds deemed illiquid. The proposals also discuss the impact of the rule on the nonbank financial firms which are supervised by the Fed but which do not need to comply.
