Norwegian sovereign fund makes record gain

Norway's sovereign wealth fund made its highest-ever return in the three months to June, following six straight quarters of losses, it emerged Friday.

The Government Pension Fund - Global was boosted by a 12.7% return of Nkr270 billion ($44.4 billion) return in the second quarter, a record high in both relative and absolute terms, on the back of a surge in equity prices worldwide. The FTSE All Word Index recorded a 18% gain in the three months to June.
