Senate okays Bush regulatory picks

US - While Congress may be at an impasse in moving important legislation, the Senate has had no problems in confirming President Bush's picks for top regulatory posts.

As a result, there are two new faces at the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Housing Finance Board finally has a five-member board and the Office of Thrift Supervision has a new head man.

The Senate has confirmed Susan Schmidt Bies and Mark W. Olson to be members of the Federal Reserve Board.
