Juncker takes hard line on ECB reform

GERMANY - Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker was quoted on 22 August as saying a future reform of the European Central Bank's Governing Council should retain the principle of the equality of euro zone countries.

"Europe would lose everything if it breaks from the principle of equal treatment of the member states," a German newspaper quoted Juncker as saying in an interview due to be published today, 23 August. Juncker said he did not believe the ECB's current monetary policy stance
