Greenspan defends Fed's decision-making methods

The Jackson Hole conference has seen a somewhat defensive Federal Reserve with criticism of its communication policies, the Wall Street Journal reported. But while even a former Fed Governor, Lyle Gramley, criticised the mixed implications for the bond markets of the Fed's mutterings, Michael Mussa noted the U.S. has had just two mild recessions in 20 years. "Keep doing what you're doing now," he said of the Fed.
