Russia's chief banker briefs Putin on inflation

Speaking on Channel One TV in Russia Sergey Ignatyev said the central bank must continue to strengthen banking supervision and that over a number of years, we will deliver full convertibility for the rouble.

[Presenter] The head of the Central Bank of Russia, Sergey Ignatyev, briefed the president [Vladimir Putin] today on the state of affairs in the banking sector. His report turned out to be fairly optimistic. Last year, the banking sector developed pretty successfully.
