Plenderleith to be named Sanlam director - report

According to a report, the South African life assurance and financial services giant Sanlam has proposed making former South African Reserve Bank (SARB) deputy governor Ian Plenderleith an independent non-executive director.

According to the Fin24 website the company will recommend the appointment of Plenderleith, 62, at its annual general meeting on 7 June to replace Dave Brink, who earlier indicated his intention to retire and not to make himself available for re-election to the Sanlam Board.
