ECB's Noyer - Governing council may need change

UK - European Central Bank Vice President Christian Noyer said Monday that the ECB governing council may need to be reformed when accession countries from southern and eastern Europe eventually adopt the single currency.

"The system has worked extremely well from the beginning. All members are concentrated on the euro area and have given up being victims of a country's interest when setting monetary policy," Noyer told financial professionals following a speech.
