Thailand's MPC leave interest rates steady

THAILAND - The Monetary Policy Committee on Tuesday left short-term interest rates unchanged, but said it would lean toward future rate cuts if overseas risks increased.

Bandid Nijathaworn, central bank assistant governor, said the MPC agreed to maintain its 14-day repuchase rate at 2%, noting that the economic recovery had been progressing well. But events overseas could warrant a possible cut in rates in the future.
